Ministry — opportunities to serve

Servant-heartedness expressed through the body of Christ is a very powerful force for the kingdom of God to come on earth!

In South City Church (SCC) we release the "priesthood of all believers" (1 Peter 2v9) and endeavour to build strong teams who work together for the glory of God.

We affirm the need for both "all-rounders" (people who engage in various roles and meet diverse needs, sometimes playing ‘out of position’) and "specialists" ("giftings" discerned, sharpened and exercised that may lead into "ministries" in their own right).

The fivefold "ministry gifts" seen in Ephesians 4v11 are given by God to prepare and equip the saints (i.e. all believers not just "the chosen few") for works of service. 

 
In SCC the pastors/elders are responsible for deciding about the suitability, placement and timing for release of people into areas of ministry.

• Serving teams help to prepare before and after Sunday meetings
• Hospitality
